Basic Shiksha Officers (BSAs) have been transferred in 30 districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Sitapur and Ambedkar Nagar. In addition, DIET principals and senior lecturers in 18 districts have also been reassigned.
Aligarh BSA Rakesh Singh has been transferred to Agra. He had earlier drawn attention after directing government school teachers to help count stray dogs on roads and act as dog trackers without any additional remuneration.
Meanwhile, Bhupendra Singh has been appointed the new BSA of Varanasi. The outgoing BSA, Anurag Srivastava, has been placed on the waiting list after serving for only about eight months.
In Agra, District Basic Shiksha Officer Jitendra Gond faced action for failing to provide information sought under the Right to Information (RTI) Act. State Information Commissioner Ajay Kumar Upreti imposed a penalty of ₹25,000 at the rate of ₹250 per day for not furnishing information requested by Mamta Valecha in March 2023. Gond has now been transferred as BSA of Jhansi.
Inspiring Story of Noida’s Deepa Bhati
Deepa Bhati, principal of the Government Girls Inter College in Greater Noida, has been appointed BSA of Hapur. Her journey is considered highly inspirational.
Eighteen years after her marriage, Bhati secured the 166th rank in the UP PCS examination in 2021. She is a mother of three children, and when she cleared the examination, her eldest daughter was studying in class 12.
Bhati had left her teaching job due to a throat ailment and later began preparing for the civil services. Despite failing twice and facing criticism from relatives, she persisted and succeeded in her third attempt.
Aligarh BSA Rakesh Singh encouraged his son after he scored 60%
Rakesh Singh, now transferred to Agra, had gone viral last year for a social media post about his son Rishi, who scored 60% marks in Class 12.
Rishi was disappointed with his result, but Singh wrote that he was as happy with his son’s 60% score as he had been when he achieved success in his own career. He also shared that he had scored 60% in high school, 75% in intermediate, and 52% in graduation, yet went on to achieve success in life.
His message emphasising hard work and self-confidence over marks, resonated widely and gained significant attention on social media.
