Lotus Juice, the rapper known for his work on the Persona series, is coming to India for the first time as a guest at Japan Habba in Bengaluru. He will perform on January 10, 2027, at 6 p.m. IST at Chamara Vajra Palace Grounds, where the two-day event will take place on January 9 and 10.
Lotus Juice is best known for his work on the Persona series, particularly Persona 3, where he performed and wrote lyrics for tracks including the iconic “Mass Destruction.” He has since worked on several other Persona games, including Persona 4 Arena Ultimax, Persona Q, Persona 5 Royal, Persona 5 Strikers, Persona 5 Tactica, and Persona 3 Reload. His work also extends to anime, with credits including JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, Soul Eater, Noragami, and Bungo Stray Dogs.
Lotus Juice has been active in music for more than two decades. His connection with Persona began when composer Shoji Meguro approached him about working on music for Persona 3. Lotus Juice ended up rewriting the English lyrics for “Mass Destruction”, which became one of the series’ most recognisable songs. He later returned for Persona 3 Reload, working on new and rearranged tracks, and has continued to perform Persona music at events around the world.
Japan Habba has been running for more than 20 years and has expanded beyond its original focus on Japanese culture to include anime, manga, games and other parts of Japanese pop culture.
According to Japan Habba chairperson Nivi Pal, the 2025 edition moved from a university venue to the Palace Grounds and drew around 15,000 attendees. The event has also added activities such as its five-hour anime quiz, a Super Smash Bros. tournament, Pokémon GO activities, and fan panels over the years.
For the 2027 edition, Japan Habba says it is looking to scale up further and bring in guests from different parts of Japanese subculture. Lotus Juice is the first major guest announced for the event, with more details expected as the convention approaches.
